Local search is an emerging market on the Internet and represents over a quarter of online search volume. It is established that most consumers do 80% of their spending within a 20 mile radius of their homes. Local search will grow to meet the needs of a new generation that expects "better than the yellow pages" results that are updated more often and take less time to search.
OneClickLocal delivers fast results with integrated maps in even the smallest of US towns. Our top 5 results are mapped immediately, complete with links to map directions, online information and the easy links to bookmark individual results. Our positive user feedback affirms our value to the online search community.
I live in the small town of George Iowa (population 1,000). When my car broke down I was able to find 20 repair shops within towing distance, compared with 3 in the phone book. Fantastic!" - John Abers, George Iowa
Our team considers local search to be in its first generation with great improvements to come. As cell phones become more Internet enabled, local results will become a vital part of cell phone usage. Online retailers will continue to move more of the advertising spend online and we believe end users will see a corresponding improvement in local search results relevancy online.
Our present focus is on improving the comprehensiveness and accuracy of our local results. More than 50% of business listings indexed have at least one change to their details such as the phone number or address within a 6 month period. Freshness will continue to be an important factor for all local search engines, closely followed by the importance of relevancy driven by user feedback. Our ongoing efforts to improve relevancy will be coupled with a late 2007 launch of cell phone deliverable listings aimed at the growing mobile market.
